Introducing WomenFIT, Didsbury with Charlotte Wright
Charlotte Wright is the founder of WomenFIT, based in Didsbury. "After successfully qualifying as a pre and post natal exercise specialist I have decided to translate my skills and passion by helping females stay fit and healthy throughout their pregnancy and following birth. As an experienced group exercise instructor and personal trainer, I come across many women who exercise regularly and lead healthy lifestyles and then become pregnant and see this as a barrier to continue exercise. This then leads them to become sedentary until baby arrives and it really does not have to be this way!
Exercise is a vital part of keeping healthy and happy in life and especially if you are expecting a new arrival. The benefits are life changing and I am really excited to share my knowledge and expertise with you. I am passionate about providing safe and effective training sessions for women who are either pregnant, have just had their baby or are still experiencing post-natal issues further along the line. Each pregnancy, delivery and recovery is unique so I aim to facilitate your individual needs with exercise that works for you.
In addition I am very passionate about keeping that all important pelvic floor fit and well and have started to run a number of pelvic floor classes for the pre and post natal woman weekly. My classes are baby friendly and also a great way to meet new like minded mums. I am also a firm believer in keeping your mind calm before your baby arrives as its been proven in research that a calm mother = a calmer baby so with this in mind I also run pregnancy meditation classes."

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS : All pelvic floor classes are 45 minutes. There is also an optional 10 minutes at the end of each class to relax in our studio, ask further questions and have some well-earned quiet time.
We will take you through a guided meditation, which will reduce stress levels and help you become in tune with you and your baby. Some think of meditation as some quiet time to breathe and connect, be aware of passing thoughts, and to clear the mind. Some say its finding inner peace, learning to let go, and getting in touch with you through breath, and through mental focus. Meditation can help you listen to your voice, your body, that small heartbeat — and help you feel refreshed and a bit more focused.
Post Natal Pelvic Floor Class (Babies Welcome)
This class will focus on helping women strengthen their pelvic floor muscles following the birth of their baby and beyond. New mums are welcome from 6 weeks after giving birth. These classes will incorporate a full routine of gentle but effective exercises to help repair and strengthen your muscles and reduce the risk of stress incontinence as well as working on that all important core strength and posture. Mats and light resistance bands are used within this class. (Babies are welcome to these classes- we have mats and toys so you can work around your baby).
Post Natal Pelvic Floor Class
This class will focus on helping women strengthen their pelvic floor muscles following the birth of their baby and beyond. New mums are welcome from 6 weeks after giving birth. These classes will incorporate a full routine of gentle but effective exercises to help repair and strengthen your muscles and reduce the risk of stress incontinence. Mats and light resistance bands are used within this class.
Pre Natal Pelvic Floor Class
This class will focus on helping women strengthen their pelvic floor muscles before giving birth to their baby. Women at all stages of pregnancy are welcome. These classes will incorporate a full routine of gentle but effective exercises to help prepare your pelvic floor for birth and to reduce the risk of stress incontinence. We also cover them all important posture and core exercises. Mats and light resistance bands are used and provided within this class.
